Project Overview
We recently completed a home extension in Astley Village, creating a larger kitchen and dining area designed for modern family living.
The homeowners wanted to open up the rear of their property and create a more spacious, welcoming environment for everyday life and entertaining. They also wanted to bring more natural light into the home and improve the connection between the house and garden.

Our Approach
Installing Piled Foundations
First, we carried out a detailed assessment of the site and identified the need for piled foundations.
By installing piled foundations, we created a strong and stable base for the extension while addressing the challenging ground conditions. This ensured the new structure would remain secure and durable for years to come.
Creating an Open-Plan Layout
Next, we completed the structural alterations needed to open up the rear of the property.
Using carefully designed steelwork, we removed the existing back wall and connected the extension to the main house. This immediately transformed the flow of the property and created a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area.
As a result, the family now enjoys a much larger and more practical living space.
Maximising Natural Light
Natural light played a major role in the design of this project.
To brighten the new extension, we installed Velux roof windows, a feature window, and contemporary aluminium bi-fold doors.
Together, these features flood the space with daylight throughout the day while creating uninterrupted views of the garden.
As a result, the extension feels bright, open, and welcoming all year round.
Strengthening the Connection to the Garden
Finally, we installed aluminium bi-fold doors to create a smooth transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
When opened, the doors help bring the garden into the home, making the space ideal for entertaining guests and enjoying family time during the warmer months.
Building Regulations and Quality Assurance
Throughout the project, we worked closely with building control to ensure every stage met current building regulations and construction standards.
