We recently completed a garage conversion in Buckshaw Village, transforming a single garage into a modern and comfortable second lounge. The homeowners wanted extra living space that could be enjoyed every day, whether for relaxing, watching films or spending time with family. By converting the garage, they were able to add a valuable new room without extending the footprint of their home.
Preparing the Space
Before work could begin on the internal finishes, we upgraded the existing garage insulation to meet current building regulations.
This step ensured the new lounge would feel just as warm and comfortable as the rest of the property while meeting building control requirements.
Seamlessly Blending with the Home
A key part of the project was making sure the conversion looked like it had always been part of the house.
We installed new windows to match the existing property, while the client supplied matching bricks from the new-build development to ensure the external finish blended perfectly with the surrounding brickwork.
A Feature Media Wall
To give the room a real focal point, we built a bespoke media wall tailored to the client’s requirements.
The finished design created a clean, contemporary look while providing the perfect space for a television and entertainment system. It quickly became the standout feature of the new lounge.
The Finished Result
The completed conversion has given the homeowners a versatile new living space that feels fully integrated into the property.
What was once an underused garage is now a bright, welcoming room that adds both practicality and value to the home.
