S.R. Bell Carpentry recently completed this bespoke staircase project in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The customer wanted to upgrade their old traditional white painted staircase.

The Old Staircase

We removed all the existing painted pine spindles and newels and replaced them with Richard Burbridge solid oak newels and handrail, creating a much more contemporary and high end finish to the staircase.

The New Staircase

French Polishing

Due to the unusual sizing of the components, we couldn’t get the materials pre-finished so we had to get them sprayed and finished off by a local French Polisher. The results were excellent and have added to the unique quality of the stairs.

Toughened Glass

We installed clear toughened glass to building regulations requirement.
The finished bespoke staircase has made a huge difference to the look of the stairs and completely modernised the feel of the living room too, leaving a fresh contemporary look and a very happy customer.
