Replacing a Flat Roof

S.R. Bell were called out to a leaking flat roof in Coppull, Lancashire. When we arrived and began replacing the flat roof, we found that the roof wasn’t only poorly maintained, it was obvious that the issues had been caused by some really bad workmanship.

Roof Structure Carpentry

The leaking felt had caused water damage to the roof timbers. Once we had uncovered and replaced the old timbers, we fitted rigid insulation and new 18mm hardwood ply.

Sika Single Ply Membrane System

The front flat felt roof was replaced with a Sika Sarnafil single ply membrane system.

When the customer reviewed the state of the pitched dormer roof, they decided that they wanted us to completely replace that too.

The project was completed in June 2019 over a 5 week duration. S.R. Bell managed the project requirements from start to finish, including the employment of various sub-contractors. We used our own structural engineer throughout the project. We also ensured the removal of all waste from the site, hiring skips where required.

The final project was completed for the customer within the estimated time frame and on budget. Building and planning permissions were submitted to Chorley borough council and local inspectors came and signed off the completed work.
